A lot of times, it is mistaken with impotence. Infertility was always a subject surrounded by fears and prejudice. It is estimated that 10% of the adult male population suffers from sexual impotence. In Brazil the numbers range around 6 million men facing this dysfunction. But what sexual impotence means: What is the difference with male infertility?
Male infertility is the incapacity to impregnate a woman after a year of frequent intercourse, without using any contraceptive methods. In the other hand, the impotence is a dysfunction that incapacities the man of maintaining an erection during sexual intercourse.
Approximately 20% of the couples present infertility problems, in half of those cases the results indicate male problems. An array of aspects can influence such problems, but the quality and also the quantity of spermatozoids are the main causes of infertility.
